"No! You cannot do this!" Kai Mow cried out his horror. "Mother!" Rushing toward the flames, Kai Mow tried to enter the room, but was thrown back from the intense heat.

Kermit and Matthew took that opportunity to continue toward the front entrance when Kermit's radio came to life.

"We've busted the Order's operation," Blake's voice came over the radio. "Every last drop has been taken."

"Good we're through here as well. Send a fire and rescue team and as many squad cars as you can. Seems a fire has mysteriously broken out. I think they're going to need it."

"You!" Kai Mow turned toward Matthew Caine, his eyes blazing with hatred. "I should have killed you when I had the chance."

Kai Mow rushed Matthew, bent on strangling the old priest. Matthew sidestepped the madman easily, but Kai Mow continued his attack. The Black Widow leader kicked out at the priest, trying to strike Matthew in the chest with a double front kick, but Matthew brought up his hands and blocked the kicks with ease. Each time Kai Mow would attack, the Shaolin priest succeeded in blocking his attacker's movements.

"Fight me!" Kai Mow screamed. "You have dishonored our order and destroyed the sacred Mother."

"She was an abomination of nature," Matthew stated. "A demon that should never have been created. The Black Widow Order has lost its true purpose."

"What do you know of our purpose, old priest?"

"The Black Widow Order was once an order of healing."

"We were weak, allowing the Shaolin to rule our lives. Enough of this, take him!"

Two others rushed in and tried to attack the priest and the ex-mercenary. Both found themselves on the floor reeling in pain and grabbing at wounds. Both men were no match for Kermit Griffin's desert eagle or Matthew's kung fu skills. More Black Widow members came at the cop and priest, each defending themselves as best they could as the flames licked higher and escaped the basement, consuming the staircase.

"Matthew, we've got to get out of here," Kermit shouted above the roar of the all-consuming fire.

Cop and Shaolin fought their way to the entrance as more members of the order tried to prevent their escape. Soon panic ensued as the members realized their lives were also in danger. Everyone rushed to the entrance, pushing and shoving, trying to escape the fire. The flames crackled and burned through the floor and smoke blackened the ceiling.

Eyes burned and throats constricted as smoke choked out the breathable air. Matthew and Kermit dropped to the floor, crawling on their hands and knees as they moved through the thickening cloud of smoke toward the front of the house. Their way was slow as members of the order continued to prevent their escape while trying to save their own lives.

*Cough, cough cough* "This is bad," Kermit tried to speak. We've got to find a way out of here. The smoke's too thick." Silence ensued. "Matthew! Where are you?" *Cough, cough cough*

Blinded by the smoke and his need for air, Kermit's mind became clouded from the lack of oxygen.

'When did this bloody mansion suddenly get so large,' he thought.

Each pace that Kermit crawled became more difficult. He tore his trademark shields from his face to try to get a better view through the thickening blackness, but tears from the smoke obscured his vision.

Weakness overcame his limbs and Kermit sank further to the floor. A single-minded thought ran through his mind. This was it. This was the end of the line. He would die, not by a bullet but from the consuming flames of a fire gone amok. Blackness overtook him. He was not aware of the strong hands that lifted him off the floor. Sirens could be heard in the distance as police and fire engines made their way to the mansion.
