Chinatown
Bon Bon Hai shuffled through some papers. He would have to speak to Chang about the household expenses. Too much money was being spent on some of the help. He had noticed there was dust on several of his Chinese artifacts. Someone was not doing their job keeping them cleaned. That person will have to be dealt with. At that moment, he felt the presence of Jack Wong standing in front of his desk.
"It is rude to walk into a room without knocking," Bon Bon Hai gave what sounded like a low growl deep in his throat. He smiled slightly when he saw the young man step backward a pace.
"Uh, we have the cop. What do you want to do with him?"
"Bring him here."
"He's still sedated," Jack Wong stated.
"That does not matter. I will deal with him."
The growl once again rumbled and Jack quickly exited the Tiger's office so as not to encore the man's wrath any longer. If Bon Bon Hai wanted to deal with the cop himself, so be it.
Within five minutes, two large men dragged the sedated cop between them.
"Place him over there."
The two thugs dropped the man on the couch, none too gently. They stood off to one side, waiting for their next instructions.
"Leave us," Bon Bon Hai commanded.
As soon as the Tiger and the cop were alone, Bon Bon Hai went back to his paperwork and waited for Henry McLean-Caine to stir from his forced slumber. Half an hour passed. Bon Bon Hai looked over toward the still sleeping cop and wondered how much longer he was going to wait.
Another hour later, a gentle knock could be heard on the Tiger's office door.
"Come in," he called to the person who waited on the other side.
Another young man entered, carrying a folder. "I think you will find this most interesting." The young man handed the folder over to Bon Bon Hai then left.
The ex-Zhong Li Quan leader opened the folder and read its contents. It was a report from one of his many spies throughout Chinatown.
"Hmmm, very interesting. I should have known he would have gone there. It is the only possible place he could have gone. Perhaps there is still a chance to destroy him after all."
Bon Bon Hai glanced over at the still slumbering cop. "I will deal with you, then Peter Caine," the Tiger purred though his prey could not hear him. "The young priest will come here to find you. Once you and that young upstart are taken care of, I will deal with Kwai Chang Caine."
At that moment, the cop stirred in his sleep, then suddenly bolted upright.
"Where am I?"
Bon Bon Hai placed the folder down on his desk then walked over to where the cop sat.
"You are in my home, Henry McLean-Caine."
"Who are you? How do you know my name?"
A low growl could be heard, but this time it came from behind Bon Bon Hai's desk. At that moment, a young Bengal tiger emerged and walked up to its owner. The owner of the tiger watched in amusement as the cop scrambled to his feet and stood up on the couch, trying to put more distance between him and the cat.
"Do not be alarmed. He will not harm you, unless you try to harm me, of course. You have caused me a great deal of trouble Mr. Caine or should I say Detective Caine. Do you know what happens to those who become my enemy, they have a way of disappearing."
"You're the tiger."
"Very perceptive, Detective," Bon Bon Hai quipped as he moved closer to the frightened cop.
"You won't get away with this. The 101st knows where I am."
"Oh I doubt that very much," Bon Bon Hai purred in response. "Besides, they won't find you where you will be going."
"Where am I going?"
"Some place beyond this world and where you will wish you hadn't gotten involved."
Bon Bon Hai snatched Henry by the wrist then wrenched the energy of his qi. There was a flash of light and both men disappeared.
