We slept in a bit. It was a little after 9:00 am when both Maria from Oz and I got up. Maria from Sweden was still asleep. After grabbing a quick shower, Maria and Oz and Iwent down for brakfast. Those at the table were trying to all they could to find out where Chris Potter might be shooting his new show, Wild Card. There were a few who would be staying a few extra days. A few were looking into a less expensive hotel and had to move their luggage. My flight would be leaving that late afternoon.
After breakfast, Maria from Oz ad I went back to the room. Maria of Sweden was just getting up and started to pack. I worked on Maria from Oz, giving her more of my energy and seeing what I can do to relieve more of her pain as much as possible. It was my last opportunity. She would not have me around any more after my plane would leave so, we both took advantage of the time.
After working on her, I did my best to dose some because the energy drain on me was taking its toll. My natural indignation is to continue until the pain is completely gone. With her injuries, that could take several hours over several days. It also involves repairing broken blood vessels and torn muscle. I don't know if I am effectively doing that. I might be relieving the pain just enough so her own body can heal itself. But I am learning that the energy that I send to someone can be just as great as the amount of pain that person is in.
Maria from Oz and Maria from Sweden packed their bags to prepare to move. Maria gave me a few things that I carefully packed in my own bags.
Another fellow Fuster had come to visit with both Marias and she helped to get their luggage to her car. We hugged at that point and they were gone. Afterward, I moved my luggage down to the main desk and they stored it for me since I wasn't leaving until later.
I then met Kim in the lobby and he went to lunch with me and Ilana. Kim was also waiting to hear if they recovered his green bag and to say Goodbye to Sandra, since she was leaving at 4:00.
Kim talked about two projects that he wanted to, a survival video for the elderly. Wit would show ways that they could keep from being robbed. He mentioned that he had experienced these things in his own life. The other project he wanted to do was a celebrity cookbook. It would contain recipes from the cast and crew of KF:TLC. I really liked that idea.
After lunch we sat with Kim in the lobby and waited for Sandra. He talked more about the cookbook and about having the event again in 2005 but in a different place. We both thought it would be very do-able. There are so many fans in the US who would love to come but can't because of cost. Kim even suggested that the money left over could go into a pot or fund to be used for the next event. We also agreed on this as well. I would gladly place extra money into a fund just for this purpose. I do not know if anyone else would be willing to do the same, but if it were possible, just think what could be done.
At 4:00, Sandra came down and both her and I set off for the airport. Kim actually walked out with us to the van. I wished I had one more frame in my camera so I could have taken a picture of Kim smiling and waving. He stood outside and waved to us until the van drove out of sight. It was such a touching moment, I will never forget. I felt like I was waving goodbye to a beloved grandfather.
Sandra and I talked more and wasn't long before we were at the airport. Going through customs wasn't hard. I prepared my forms, but the hardest part was arranging my suitcase to be scanned. The think weighed 45 lbs. Next time I think I will pack two bags, one for my clothes and one for all of my memorabilia, if there is a next time. I really hope so. As new people find the fandom, more are going to want to come. Who knows we may have it in two years or a 15th Anniversary event yet. See everyone in Fudom!

Note, since this journal was written Sandra decided not to do another FuFest. She did say if anyone wished to take on the project she would be more than happy to give them advise on what needed to be done. Putting on an event of this magnitude takes time a teamwork. I am still hopeful that an event can take place, though it would take a great deal of planning and people would have to commit to the project.
It took nearly a year to complete this story, but I hope you have enjoyed it. It was an experience that I will never forget, being able to meet with the Ancient, and really see for myself, how much of an endearing person Kim Chan is in real life.
I leave you with the image of Caine's Kwoon. Though Kwai Chang Caine may no longer be there, his essence still remains. His presence will always be felt in this small Chinatown. May he return some day.
